The Type Director's Club has a new exhibition “Working with Words” of the design work of Alexander Isley.
Isley has designed books, magazines, exhibits, memorial inscriptions, store interiors, packaging, signage, watches, dinner trays, posters, shopping bags, catalogs, restaurants, album covers (remember those?), videos, web sites, billboards, and truck fleets. Most of these incorporate the use of typography in inventive ways. His first real design job was at M&Co. He then went on to art direct Spy magazine. Alex founded his company in 1988.
